FASHION STUDIO INTERN
Description :You will gain first-hand experience of the workings of a small but busy fashion studio, and will have the opportunity to work on the SS12 collection from its inception through to production and presentation during London and Paris Fashion Weeks.

You will gain insights into all studio-related work such as carrying out research, purchasing, liaising with suppliers and production sites, costing, basic pattern cutting, designing, sewing and other general tasks around the Studio, and will also have the opportunity to participate in presentations and/or exhibitions of the collection.

You will work alongside the Creative Director, Studio Manager and pattern cutters. Very capable candidates may be offered a permanent role.

Profile :You should be a student or graduate with skills and experience in at least two of the following areas: machine sewing, hand stitching, pattern cutting, Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign, photography, design, drawing and grading. (Please identify which are your best skills in your application.)

You must have a flexible approach, have great attention to detail and be able to work to deadlines and under pressure.

You should also be motivated, confident, easy-going, cheerful, hard-working, punctual, responsible, reliable and committed.

We are looking for an enthusiastic fashion/ textiles student or graduate who is eager to learn and get stuck in. This unpaid placement but travel expenses up to £12 per day will be covered. It therefore makes most sense for a student with accommodation within London to apply for this voluntary placement. You will be required to work 3 days a week (Tue, Wed and Thu) but this may change to 4 days to include Friday if we get busy. You must be flexible.

As a studio intern responsibilities include fabric sourcing, hand sewing, running errands and organising the studio.

This is a great opportunity for a student to gain real hands on experience within an emerging luxury brand whilst building up contacts within the industry.
