Week 3
Communicating visions in black and white:
This has been my favorite lesson so far, started of the day with a introduction into the brief of black and white sculptuere, from this i found inspiration for some initial designs.
I find that i am a perfectionist and once i have an initial idea i liked to stick to it, but during the brief i was surprised that i decided to go in a completely dif direction,
My initial idea was to create a bodice using black and white strips of fabric and plate them to create a raw edge bodice but during the brief i saw some images of designs which used more crisp smooth usage of materials such as paper folding,
I decided to push my self and not just churn out a convential bodice, i got down to work and started designing in my sketchbook, i wanted to use my time most effectivly by getting started on the construction as quick as i can,i cant decide between two designs, of dresses using folded paper and fabric roses and patterns,i am going to push myself and try and creaate both peices
.

During this lesson i managed to create the basic bodice of the first dress, quite alot of the lesson was experiementing on the best way to fold the paper neatly , i found away of pre scouringtthe paper which gave the folds crisp edges, and made the prosses easier, once i had found the best way of creating the folds i settlesd down into a routine and most of my day was spent measureing, scoring and folding, teh end result was good, im looking forward to next week , during this week im going to work on my sketchbook in my spare time and hopefully du some samples of the fabric roses and flowers which will mean next leson can just get straight on with construction, im excited!......

Week 1
Im soo glad that we are getting stuck into some work now , I did enjoy the relaxed approach to induction week but im excited to find out the briefs and find out more detail about the coarse its self....
We started the week by reviewing our holiday projects, i was happy with mine but i found it a bit embarressing having relative strangers critique my work, but i was happpy with the response especialy on my fashion drawings...
we then had an introduction into PPRD with jamie, jamies cool!!! i think i quite like this lesson i enjoy learning new applications on the macs, and i think there is going to be plenty to learn....
Pattern cutting was our next lesson, i think this lesson is going to push us , this was my first lesson but it was already full on, i did enjoy a hole day of teaching about tailoring and creating my own bodice but i did find it a bit stressful to try and concentrate for a full day as most of the other lesson seem to be more relaxed approach...

Induction week

I found my first week a useful and relaxin introduction into my new life as a university student at AUCB.
The week consisted of various coarse breakdowns, seminars on general university life and tours of the grounds and many facilities open for my use.
I especially enjoyed the coarse trip to Studland beach, it was a lovely day, which gave the group a chance to bond and freindships to form, this was integral to us as during the coarse there will be many oppurtunities where we have to work together.
After the induction week i felt that i was ready to knuckle down into my coarse with out any worries...induction week was an success!
